Smart home installer UK: from first message to handover

What a fitted smart home involves, step by step: the photos we ask for, the fixed price, a typical fitting day, the handover and what happens after.

Buying a smart home from an installer is a different thing from buying a box. A box leaves the choosing, the wiring, the joining and the app on everyone's phone to you. A fitted home should arrive finished. This is what that looks like with us, from the first message to the moment the system is handed to you.

Before anyone comes round

1A message on WhatsApp. One line is enough: what you have and what you want. No forms and no sales visit.

2A short chat or a few photos. Most homes can be priced without a visit.

3A fixed price in writing. One price for the kit, the fitting and the handover, agreed before anything is fitted, and nothing a month after it.

The photos that help most:

Each camera, doorbell or smart device you already own, so we can tell you which join as they are.

The front and back doors, and the outside walls where you picture cameras.

Your heating controls, if the heating is joining in.

Where your router lives, because the hub sits beside it.

If a visit would genuinely help, we say so. If something you own will not join, such as a cloud-only doorbell, we tell you straight and price a replacement plainly. There is nothing to buy before we come: the price covers the kit, and we bring everything.

The fitting day

Most homes take a day. Times vary, but a typical one runs like this:

08:30: we arrive and show ID, then walk round with you: where each camera looks, which doors and windows get a sensor, where the hub lives.

09:15: the hub goes in beside your router. From then on, everything we add runs on it, in your house.

10:30: cameras up, wired in where you agreed, every one live in the app at once.

12:00: door and window sensors, motion sensors and the siren. Home, Night and Away are set up with the sensors each one watches, and the entry and exit delays are set to suit you.

13:30: the heating joins, room by room where thermostats are fitted, with your plan for the week.

15:00: the app goes on every phone, tablet and computer in the house, and everyone's PIN is set.

Door and window sensors stick on and the hub sits on a shelf, so most of the day is tidy. Outdoor cameras need power, which usually means a cable to run and a small hole to drill, and every spot is agreed with you first. If you rent, anything drilled needs your landlord's agreement before the day.

The handover

At about 16:00 we walk you through the whole house: setting and unsetting the alarm, finding and saving a clip, changing the heating, running a scene.

Then you get it in writing: every sensor and the alarm modes that watch it, every camera, every test with the time it passed, and anything left out on purpose with what that means. Every login is handed to you, the hub's included, with a record of what is fitted where.

From that moment the system is yours. Nothing about it depends on our servers, because we do not have any.

After we leave

We are a message away on WhatsApp, 08:00 to 20:00, 7 days a week.

The work carries a 12-month workmanship guarantee, and the devices keep their makers' own warranties.

Adding something later works the same way as the first time: a message, a fixed price in writing, then a date. Another camera, a sensor, a speaker: the hub takes it in and it appears on every phone.

Some things you can do yourself. A new TV, speaker, bulb or plug can be added from the app with your PIN in a few taps; the cameras and the alarm's wiring stay with us.

How to start

We are designed and developed in the UK and we fit homes across the UK. Send us a message on WhatsApp with where you are, what you have and what you want, and we will come back with the questions that matter and, usually from a few photos, a fixed price in writing. There is nothing to pay each month afterwards.

Want a straight answer for your home?We usually reply within two hours, 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
