What they do on the hub

Joined once. Then part of the house.

Up at sunrise

Blinds up at sunrise, or 30 minutes after, and down at sunset, on the days you choose.

Halfway is fine

Open, close, stop, or slide to the height you want. Tilt the slats where the blind can.

Cinema closes them

One tap on Cinema dims the lights and brings the blinds down.

"Close the living room blinds." Said to the nearest screen, done.

IKEA

Works locally

FYRTUR, KADRILJ, PRAKTLYSING and TREDANSEN battery blinds.

IKEA's battery blinds join the hub directly over Zigbee, no IKEA hub needed, and report how far open they are, so the app shows each one's height.

Sent to a halfway height, the app can show "opening" for a while after the blind has stopped.

Shelly

Works locally

Plus 2PM and 2PM Gen3, wired to a blind, curtain track or roller shutter motor.

For blinds and shutters with a wired motor, we fit a Shelly beside it. The wall buttons keep working by hand, and one calibration run lets the app show how far open it is.

SwitchBot

Works locally

Curtain 3 and Blind Tilt, over Bluetooth.

SwitchBot clips onto the curtain rail or the tilt wand you already have, nothing to rewire, and the hub drives it over Bluetooth rather than through SwitchBot's cloud.

It needs to be within Bluetooth range of the hub.

Luxaflex

Works locally

PowerView blinds, with a PowerView hub or gateway in the house.

Made-to-measure PowerView blinds keep their own hub; the hub talks to it on your network, so every PowerView blind opens, closes and sets its height from our app and in your scenes.

What we leave out, and why

Blinds that only take orders through their maker's cloud, and simple one-way radio motors that never say where they are, are not on this list.

Can my existing blinds be made smart?

Often. Curtains on a rail can take a SwitchBot clip-on motor, and blinds and shutters with a wired motor can take a Shelly. Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you what fits.

Can the blinds open at sunrise?

Yes. Any blind on the hub can open at sunrise, or a few minutes before or after, and close at sunset, on the days you choose.

Will they still work if the internet goes down?

Yes. The plan runs on the hub and the blinds take their orders in the house, so they still go up at sunrise.
