Your cameras. Recorded at home.Yourcameras. Recordedathome.
Most cameras with a standard video stream join the hub as they are. Every one plays live, side by side, and records to a drive in your house, with nothing a month.
Every one talks to the hub in your house. No maker's cloud, nothing a month.
What they do on the hub
Joined once. Then part of the house.Joinedonce. Thenpartofthehouse.
Every camera live at once
Side by side on every phone, tablet and computer. Tap one for full screen, live, with sound.
Recorded in your house
Around the clock or events only, Sharp or Light, on a drive of up to 1 TB. The oldest footage goes first.
A person, not a cat
People, cars and animals told apart, and every event in plain words with the picture and the clip.
Look closer, look back
Double-tap to look closer. Drag back through the day on a timeline, and download a clip as evidence.
Brand by brand
The ones that join. No cloud needed.Theonesthatjoin. Nocloudneeded.
Which models, and what each brand does once it has joined. Not sure about yours? Send us a photo and we will tell you straight.
Tapo
Works locally
Wired and plug-in cameras such as the C100, C200, C210, C220, C310, C320WS, C500, C510W and C520WS. Not the battery models (C400, C420, C425).
Each Tapo gets a camera account, set once in the Tapo app, and the hub takes the picture straight from the camera with it. On the pan-and-tilt models you steer the view on the picture itself, with the viewpoints saved in the camera to hand.
Tapo's battery cameras send their picture only to Tapo's own app, so they cannot record to the hub.
Reolink
Works locally
Wired PoE cameras such as the RLC-510A, RLC-520A, RLC-810A and RLC-820A, and plug-in Wi-Fi cameras such as the E1 Zoom and E1 Outdoor. Not the battery Argus and Go ranges.
A PoE camera takes its power and its picture down one network cable, so there is no plug by the camera and no Wi-Fi to drop. The hub records the full picture, and a phone on a weak spot of the Wi-Fi gets the camera's lighter one instead of a frozen frame.
The battery Argus and Go cameras sleep between events and keep no stream open, so they cannot record to the hub.
Hikvision
Works locally
IP cameras, including their ColorVu and AcuSense IP models. Not the analogue Turbo HD range.
Already have Hikvision IP cameras on the walls? Most join as they are: the hub asks each one for its standard stream, with no Hikvision account or app in between.
Analogue cameras on coax cable are a different system and cannot join on their own.
Annke
Works locally
IP cameras such as the C800 and the NC400, wired or Wi-Fi.
Annke's IP cameras give the same kind of stream as Hikvision's, so they join the same way and record to the hub instead of a recorder in a cupboard.
Annke also sells analogue kits with their own recorder; those cameras cannot join on their own.
Dahua
Works locally
IP cameras, including the WizSense range. Not the analogue HDCVI range.
Dahua makes the cameras behind other names too, Amcrest and Imou among them, so one way in covers all three: the hub asks for the camera's own stream and records it at home.
Amcrest
Works locally
Wired and Wi-Fi IP cameras such as the IP4M and IP8M ranges.
Amcrest's IP cameras hand the hub the same stream as Dahua's. The hub records them on its own drive, so an Amcrest cloud plan is never needed.
Some Amcrest models are sold mainly in the US. Send us yours and we will check it.
Imou
Works locally
Plug-in Wi-Fi cameras such as the Ranger, Cruiser and Bullet ranges. Not the battery Cell range.
An Imou's local password starts as the safety code on its label, until you change it in the Imou app. With it, the hub takes the camera's own stream and records it at home.
The battery Cell cameras send only to Imou's app, so they cannot join.
Ubiquiti UniFi
Works locally
G4 and G5 cameras on UniFi Protect, through a UniFi console in the house.
UniFi cameras answer to the UniFi console in your house. The hub takes each one's stream from the console, so you keep UniFi for the network and get every camera on the same grid as the rest of the house.
Needs a UniFi console, such as a Cloud Key or a Dream Machine. Without one, UniFi cameras cannot join.
What we leave out, and why
Cloud-only cameras, for example Ring and Blink, send their picture only to their maker's servers, so a hub in your house cannot see them. Most battery cameras, whatever the name on the box, sleep to save power and keep no stream open, so they cannot record to the hub either. We fit cameras that can.
Mostly. You use the Tapo app once, to put the camera on your Wi-Fi and give it a camera account. After that the hub takes the picture straight from the camera and records it at home, and you watch it in our app. The battery models are the exception: they only talk to Tapo's app.
Can Reolink cameras record without a monthly plan?
Yes. The hub records them to its own drive in your house, around the clock or events only, on up to 1 TB, with nothing a month. Wired and plug-in Reolink cameras work this way; the battery ones do not.
Can we keep the CCTV we already have?
If they are IP cameras with a standard video stream, usually yes: Hikvision, Dahua, Annke, Amcrest and more. Old analogue cameras on coax cable are a different system. Send us a photo of a camera and its label on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight.
Why can't cloud-only cameras join?
A camera that only sends its picture to its maker's servers, for example Ring or Blink, gives a hub in your house nothing to record. We fit cameras that stream at home instead.
Do the cameras keep recording if the internet goes down?
Yes. They record to the hub in your house, and nothing it does needs a company's cloud. Only the alerts you ask for go out.
